Logistics

We provide logistics consultancy services to the producers, suppliers and transporters of cargo; manufacturers, shipping lines and third party logistics suppliers. Our logistics consultancy services combine operational industry experience, an appreciation of the economics of transport (all modes) and an understanding of the commercial mechanisms involved. These, together with our ability to model large volumes of data, analyse infrastructure, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the structure and operations of all modes of transport, enable us to provide impartial advice covering the entire logistics supply chain.

We can offer unbiased views of the market and suggest the most appropriate and cost- effective solutions. Our principal strength is a detailed knowledge of all modes of transport, not just road freight. For example, we have a full understanding of the rail industry, its economics and operations. This enables us to design, cost and evaluate combined road/rail intermodal solutions.

Our advice is not limited to the private sector. MDS Transmodal also works extensively for the public sector in developing strategies and policies to both promote the interests of local and regional economies and to reduce the impact of freight transport on the environment. This has included advice on planning guidance in the context of Regional Spatial Strategy as well as on public sector led rail and water related freight projects.
