Atlantic Interoperability Services (ATLANTIS) Connecting Europe Facility application
Client: – Brest Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Date:
2015
The client commissioned MDST to develop an application for EU funding to contribute to the cost of an ICT system and associated activities which would stimulate the launch of a Motorways of the Sea service.
The question
How best can the case be made for EU funding from the Connecting Europe Facility for a pan-European Motorway of the Sea project involving three different port regions in Western France, Portugal and North West of England?
The solution
- Developed a project plan to ensure that all the relevant inputs were available to ensure that the application could be submitted with the deadline.
- Drafted the actual application in liaison with the client and other project partners.
- Developed a project budget, taking account of the partners’ contributions.
- Liaised with relevant officials in the European Commission.
- Submitted the application on behalf of the client within the deadline.
The impact
The application was successful, securing €2.2 million of funding from the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union and allowing the ATLANTIS project to be implemented by the project partners.
